"Jumping the Broom" is an African American tradition that has resurfaced in recent years. It's roots have been traced back to the Motherland of the African Continent, when griots and jewels pronounced blessings upon the newly wed.

Nina Domingue is a critically acclaimed, multi faceted actress known for her moving and skillful portrayals and solo shows. A skilled playwright, teaching artist, coach and director, she has worked in some of the countries most critically acclaimed theaters and Festivals including the Tony Award winning Cleveland Play House, Cleveland Public Theatre, Karamu House, Inc, Talespinner Children's Theatre, The National Black Theatre Festival, New Federal Theatre's Retrospective of Ntozake Shange's work, The NY International Fringe Festival, the New Orleans Black Theatre Festival, the New Orleans Black Film Festival and others.
